In my opinion the part of the bunnys charm was the ambiguarty.

Mad and wierd (and even secret) gig locations and bunny events climaxing with a show.

Thatt however was all the brainchild of the one and only Bill Druommed was he the real Bunnyman ? The real Echo?

Lets face it, after close scrutiny and analysis the bunnys went of the boil after Bill went AWOL

But even though they are simmering thet can still knock spots off all of their contemparys and adversarys new and old

I was just talking to someone about this topic earlier today.

I think Drummond was a key ingredient for the Bunnymen's early success and sense of mystery that surrounded them. I kind of did consider him the fifth Bunnyman.

What are the chances the Bunnymen could ever get him back in the fold?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

From what I have read, the drum machine at the beginning of Over TheWall and the horns on The Cutter were Drummond's idea.

He took a great band and made them even greater. When he stepped away alot of the lustre was lost. But he was not greater than the sum of the Bunnymens parts.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

He's no Paul McGuinness.

He hamstrung their success, in my opinion.

When they should've been touring the US, they were playing hotel lobbies in the Outer Hebrides (sp?)

Bill Drummond was all about getting attention for the sake of getting attention - trying to show the world how wacky and weird he is.

I agree, weird only gets you so far then you have to play like the big boys if you want mass success. Otherwise you'll end up just being some cult band. It's clear to me that Mac wanted to be a big star and not some cult figure and I think Drummond stalled that.

I think Bill Drummond said something to the effect that adding the horns to The Cutter was the best thing he ever did for the band commercially.

if drummond's tours were designed to prevent the bunnys going up their own arse burrows it didn't aprewntly work whereas if he'd let them tour the us etc and become the size of u2 at the time then they probably wouldn't have split up 'cos mac would be successful and although will et al like to moan about fame i bet they're glad they don't have to watch the electic metre, just a thought
