Best of 2011

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I bought into the SCUM hype and bought that. It sucks. Most unmemorable melodies since Matchbox Twenty.

I really dug the Arctic Monkeys "Suck It and See" album this year.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'll pretend I didn't see that.

Malbert wrote:Their music is great; the singer, not so much. He looks like Prince's white little brother with all the drama of Pete Burns in "You Spin Me Round".

The keyboard player Sam has been my son's best friend since primary school, he's a lovely young man. I think a couple of their songs sound a bit like early Bunnymen.

My best album of 2011 was Bombay Bicycle Club - A Different Kind of Fix

You or your son will be interested in this then...

I'm unsure about S.C.U.M to be honest. Prefer The Horrors, but they aren't a band that I'm into that much either. Their last album I only really liked one song (Sea Within a Sea) and on Skying there's only a few.

I was surprised how poor the subsequent Horrors albums were. It took Interpol 3 albums to go down hill that fast.
