on BBC 6 music, an interview with Janice Long on Radio 2
and various "regional" interviews, with some acoustic
plays of either The killing moon or NLF!!

Not for U2 or Coldplay though in fact most acts with an established fan base should be able to get some kind of deal happening.
This may have been the best option for Mac and a brave move on his behalf.
