Mac the arrogant rambling diva strikes again ...............

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

its because people loved and still love crocs, huh ect.... so much it, pisses them off to see what they consider a pale imitation these days.

Yup. We went through this on the Super BOF and here.

And those first four albums are so amazing that despite all my complaining I can't give up[ on the remaining two. And Will has proven that he still has got some ideas left with Glide.

The review posted here by Oceanbrain is very similar to the posts on EATB facebook.

There are also now a few mentions of Mac being ill, sincerely hope not.

He is coming across as mentally ill though . . . he can not stop blaming the band or any external situation.
Everyone on eggshells and no consistency except consistently letting everyone else down.

The booze & the drugs are taking their toll and the worst side of his personality is taking over.
The gigs are an embarrassment and he is to blame.

Too sad.

quick! call in bono to save him!

I only saw EATB this year, so that's the EATB I fell in love with. Just my two cents. But it always happens to me when I get into bands late... I think it's valid to say they're not good now, if you got into them in time for any of the essential albums. But live, all those songs from different eras sort of sounded the same, there wasn't a gap that made me think about which ones are older and which ones are new.

T said " I'm guessing but I suppose Ian must have issues with losing his beauty, with seeing much more mediocre groups go on to be more succesful, and with to having to struggle financially."

And that for me is it in a nutshell.

Mac is a working class boy/man with a sensitive side behind the mouth and scouse directness. Sometimes the sensitive side seems to get lost but you can hear it in his voice and lyrics if you try hard enough. I think he is one of the few proper - interesting - pop stars left.

As others have said I really hope Mac finds happiness in his life but with his background and the issues T describes he deserves support not condemnation imho x

i've been listening to the bunnymen for seven hundred years and have been to at least three shows in that time. i doubt they'll live up to the glory of the crucial three gigs (i saw them eighty times) the best show being in a toilet at euston station. because of all of this i feel that they OWE me big time and their lives should revolve around my own pathetic attempt at life, i mean honestly- mac stop having issues and entertain me for 90 mins- the fountaoin was a good album but what have you released in the last day? nothing will live up to stars are stars so make more songs like that but don't you dare make replicas of the song, etc...

I was down at the front with Mr & Mrs Bunnygod on the Saturday night and it seemed that everyone was having a great time, myself included, mind you it was only my second night out in the last six months and the last one was at the Palladium. It's always a pleasure to spend time in Liverpool and having seen them loads of times over the years I wasn't disappointed

I so wish I was playing second guitar in the band and could just tell Mac to fuck off right on stage.

Only to look over and see a tear fall from Will's eye and him mouthing the words, "Thank you."

fingers crossed.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
