Not really. Hadn't read your comment on the other thread. Last time I looked at that there was a video of Blackadder and somebody had put a smiley face directly underneath. I shall now comment on it.

Meh - Mac needs to get enough 'pledges' from people to fund his solo album. That is how the funding with this 'label' works. That can't be easy for someone previously era defining and the writer of some of the best music of the last 30 years.

Instead of mocking I'd hope fans would either pledge (you can do so for £8 which gets you the album download) or at the very leat reflect on how sad it is that Mac needs to do this to get his music released.

You say this as if Mac has been an innocent bystander in his own life. His current situation, whatever it is, is not something outside forces have thrust upon him. Sad? I assume that Mac has always chosen the course of action he wanted to chose, and therefore did what made him happy. Maybe you or I look at his choices and say he should have done this or that, but he is an adult and what he is doing now is a consequence of what he did yesterday. He may be childish, but he is not a child.

Actually, someone posting on here pleading to everyone to pledge their monies to fund Mac's album, exactly like my bone idle clerk pleads every year for an extra shilling in his pay packet so he can help his poor son who has been diagnosed with rickets, has put me off even more from buying it now. Bah, humbug.

i guess it's reality. jason pierce recorded most of the new spiritualized album in his front room to save money, going to iceland and la for touches (strings and choirs respectively) it's so very sad when you see the shit out there making millions
