Mac the arrogant rambling diva strikes again ...............

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

NOTE: In the UK, it's Dr Cheese; here in the US, it's Dr. Cheese. It's a seriously huge difference.

let's face it, the bunnymen can't afford to be ill. When did you ever hear of U2 or Simple Minds pulling a show? I would say Depeche Mode, but Dave Gahan makes Mac seem clean.

A strange synchronicity in how the VT members posts can go off on such strange tangents then come back to original subject - just like Mac rattling off about something that has no relevance, bad jokes and sometimes a poignant meaningful observation.

The big difference would be most members here can remember the lyrics . . .

We're gifted.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Shh! You're wrecking the aura of ignorance I have been striving to maintain here at VT.

On the topic of Mac....I really hope he rights himself. I worry about him.

Purveyor of the 'semi-predictable one-liner (which) embodies the essence of the type of comedic crap we grew to love here. VB is a crazy fool'

I would say 99% of people here wish the same - I hope 100%.

If it weren't for him there would never have been the band everyone loves so much and we must always be grateful for that.

Ian McCulloch would have to be one of the most charismatic people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

If not for Mac and Mr. Brian there would never of been the great meeting of minds that has gathered here on VT.

We salute you Mr. Brian.

For myself its not about liking or disliking - its about being moved.

I quite 'like' some music thats on this Ipod/Ipad (whatever it is), advert that's on every 2 mins in the UK.

Watching 'the killing moon' from last weeks show, I thought there was something genuinley tragic and almost heroic in the performance. I'm guessing but I suppose Ian must have issues with losing his beauty, with seeing much more mediocre groups go on to be more succesful, and with to having to struggle financially. I guess too he self medicates to 'help' deal with this...despite all this you could see and hear him and the group transcend all this stuff through the song...

Where else you seeing that?

I was thinking of EATB 's peers....I guess Paul Weller, SYlvian , Mike Scott and Depeche mode are all still making work that 'like' it or not is vital and interesting, and all but Weller are teetotal after having drink and drug issues...u2, Simple minds...I wouldn't get off the couch for 'em if they were playing at the School across the road...but EATB have a grandoise pathos that none of these names do....it's fascinating...but surely they are in a cul de sac now - how long can Ian's body/mind hold up? Will seems to have the patience of a holy man.

I also don't expect 'artists' of the calibre of EATB/Ian to be 'professional' - I expect that of the bloke I pay to fix my boiler/Lay a floor etc...[/center]

I heard weller was off the sauce after this incident:

though might not have been permanent. I htink weller's a much more interesting bloke than his music these days, well any days since the jam (call me old fashioned and all that).

everybody has a right to their opinion,i did not think the fountain was as bad as some think on here (proxy is the worst eatb recording ever),but compared to anything from the 80's there is no comparison!
its because people loved and still love crocs, huh ect.... so much it, pisses them off to see what they consider a pale imitation these days.

Yes to the first part.

There are 3 other members that I am certain of which can be said the same. If not also Drummond.
