Pete Homstrom played with Electrfixion??

Postby Mr. Brian » Mon Dec 19, 2011 4:16 pm

I uploaded some Bunnymen and Electrafixion videos a long time ago and one was a live shot of Burned. I get e-mails whenever someone comments and someone said "I saw them on that tour. Will was sick during the toronto date so they got the guitarist from the dandy warhols to fill in"

I thought, that can't be true, surely I would have heard of this! I checked over at The Bunnymen Concert Log to see if there was a note about that and sure enough...

November 21st, 1995
Electrafixion
Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Phoenix Park Concert Theatre
...
NOTES: His mother's sudden death pulled Will Sergeant off the tour and back to England. For the Toronto, Montreal and Providence dates, the band soldiered on with a fill-in guitarist: Pete Homstrom of The Dandy Warhols. "It's more than just soldiering on -- we wouldn't do it if we didn't think it would sound great and that it would still represent the band. It's like a squad game -- reshuffling your defense and a bit of your attack." -- Ian McCulloch, interview, Addicted to Noise, 1995

Also for those that did not know. The Bunnymen Concert Log was maintained by Kristin Smith AKA "blinfool" who passed away from cancer this past January. I'm not sure how long all that great research she did will stay.

Yeah I read about that somewhere recently. Dandy Warhols are/were big Bunnymen fans apparently.

I saw them live a long time ago when they were supporting Blur but unfortunately the girl in the band was not topless at that show.
