Bestival Live 2011

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Bestival Live 2011

The Cure has another live double cd out. It actually sounds like The Cure of the early 80s. Quite raw. Like my nub.

I'd hate to see Bob Smith stripped down.
Purveyor of the 'semi-predictable one-liner (which) embodies the essence of the type of comedic crap we grew to love here. VB is a crazy fool'

wossamatter? Scared you'll turn? That he'll say come on big boy, get close to me, and you whisper lets go to bed, and when it hurts a bit (just the first time, obv) he'll give you a cuddle and say cheer up VB, boys dont cry, and then he'll sing you a lullabye, or even a lovesong and it'll be just like heaven. Is that what you're afraid of? hmm?

Or a man inside my mouth
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

In the video above at :30, the drummer burps which is kind of cool.

"Killing An Arab" has been changed to "Killing Another."

Is that old news?

That's dumb because the song refers to a work of literature, "The Stranger" by Albert Camus. Whose brilliant idea was that??

It was changed due to it's use by Red Neck US Radio stations playing it during the first Gulf War as an anti Arab anthem.....

But they changed it back to "Killing An Arab" at the Reflection Dates in November.....

Nothing should ever be changed on account of inbred redneck cretins. I feel bad for the Cure, though, having that song so badly abused.

Actually the song was banned from being played on U.S. radio during the first Gulf War just as it was by the BBC, so you wouldn't here it in any of your "paki shops." (Your country's slang.)

What do you call a redneck in England?

saw what you did there hip. good one, if a tad defensive. Dont think we have an equivalent of a redneck as such. There are elements of society that kind of fit what I understand as one of those, but no direct comparison. what are they - right wing, working class? Short hair?

anyway, banned is not necessarily correct, I htink you'll find the wording:

some woman from the bbc wrote:In the event of hostilities, Radio 2 operates a policy of sensitivity to the music played on the station.

"We do not have a banned list of records but are careful to reflect the mood of the country as events unfold.

This is quite funny in places.

Phil collins, 'in the air tonight'. Briliant.

I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit on that one.
