From the good old days when Les played with the band and Ian wore something other than a black navy pea coat. Thanks for the post.

Them were the days. I was 25 or something like that and thought they looked and sounded cool. It was what the kids wanted, at least I met many who had Evergreen in their collection. The old curmudgeons, although not that old at that time, welcomed them back but some thought that something wasn't quite right. 2011 I am now one those old curmudgeons. WTF.

You were 25 and looking through kids' record collections? Did their parents know?

Yeah, they let me round. I had served my time, paid my dues though. Couldn't help it. They looked soooo fine and were asking for it. Good days. They didn't have the register back then. Bastards.

And here I thought this was new and Letterman had lost his CBS gig and was none on public access.

Wow...14 years ago!

I remember when this was on originally. That was a great time for the band and the fans.

I'm getting to the stage where 'I remember' is an achievement in itself, it doesn't really matter what the fuck I actually recall.

Micheal Lee still the 2nd best Bunnymen drummer ever.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I just remember shit how I want nowadays, not how it actually happened.

Did they get a lot of airplay in the media during the Evergreen era? I remember the year, but I didn't know them then.

Here in the UK... loads. You couldn't escape them and Mac, Will and Les more or less had the press eating out of their hands, so to speak. I think they were probably one of the main bands in 1997-1998 that every review said that seeing them live was a must do. I remember reading those kind of live reviews a lot particularly in the broadsheets.

While reminiscing and related as such, I'd stuck some of this on twitter after clearing out a load of old cassette singles and albums. Found my old copy of Terry Hall's Forever J and Home album, forgetting who the bass player was. That led me to seek the videos out on youpubes, some of the live performances with Les have only appeared in the last six months or so.
