The Black Keys

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

The Black Keys

I must say that several years ago I was all "What's the big deal?" about The Black Keys. I have seen the error of my ways, and now I'm hooked. I suppose I wasn't ready for their greatness back then, but mama has seen the light! Can't wait for El Camino to be released (patience, Grasshopper).

I've had this happen with other bands where they didn't "take" the first time or two I heard them and then suddenly it all clicks. It's actually kind of cool when that happens.

One of my closest friends LOVES Steely Dan, while I only like the song "Kid Charlemagne". Well, okay, the song about bad sneakers and a pina colada too.

Steely Dan?! Blech......I hated them when I was a kid, and I still hate 'em. They are my 70's equivalent of my 80's (and still going strong) hate of The Cure.

Is there another band called The Cure from Texas or something that I don't know about? It seems incomprehensible to me that a Bunnymen fan wouldn't like at least some of the Cure!

I came to appreciate Steely Dan late in life. Is that shameful?

Yes .
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Speaking of the Black Keys... they're on the Colbert Report tonight.
