At first I wasn't too thrilled with the new M83. I wanted before the Dawn Heals Us, again. But what they have done is put out their own Sandinista leaving people arguing which songs are crap and which are good and really mixing Before The Dawna dn Saturday = Youth.
It took awhile to get used to singer/songwriter Anthony Gonzale's mix of Peter Gabriel and Babatunde Omoroga "Tunde" Adebimpe vocal stylings. When wanting a variation of an album a band had put out, it is easy to dismiss a work that does not deliver on that.
And nothing as cringe worthy as Graveyeard Girl - but lots of grandiose drum rolls in a some songs and simple piano (again the Gabriel comparison) "Here Comes The Flood" brief moments.
The double cd does get better and better.
New Map - M83
But hey - these guys really articulate things in a way Wojo never could
