Stones Roses Reform

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

see, though i disagree on the songs chosen, i agree that siberia, in my initial assessment, most songs have good bits in them, but hardly ever turn into a great song overall.

Same with flowers I guess king of kings is good - the song that is, that is, lol, and the title track - the sarge playing the blues, who'd have though that. i too like shroud of turin. bit of the daftness that only mac when on form can get away with when he's on form, not to mention the sarges little riffette.

Cant remember who said it - but if there 10 mill a night, must be at least half of that going to venue, the suits, crew and general hangers on. Even so, not bad for a nights work.

Good for her. She looked so uncomfortable when I saw her touring with Bat for Lashes in 2009. I felt really sorry for her playing with what looked like a load of London University music students led by that Natasha woman doing her repertoire of Bjork and Stevie Nicks karaoke. Dunno how she went backing the lovely KT Tunstall.

black francis wrote:I still believe my assessment that Siberia is half a great album. The songs (minus Parthenon Drive which is terrible) either have a great chorus or great verse but rarely (All Because of You Days being an exception) both. From The Fountain I like "Life of 1000 Crimes" and "Shroud of Turin"

Wasn't a big fan of Evergreen, WAYGTDWYL and Flowers even I spent years trying to convince myself otherwise.

Siberia has its a moments - still think it [s]has[/s] had (don't have a copy now having given it away) some good stuff on there like In The Margins, Of A Life, Siberia, Sideways Eight and Scissors In the Sand. Modern sounding but with a nod to the earlier Bunnymen. Some really great guitar playing on there by Will. Shame it didn't do better, deserved to do so, but it was not what the kids wanted.

Then the Fountain came out, which the kids were supposed to want, but didn't in reality and it sounded like it was trying to be Coldplay or that kind of commercial bland crap. Awful album. I quite like(d) most of Evergreen, which the kids round these parts did like as I was one at the time (well, just about). Alas, it is all a distant memory now.

Of a Life is definitely good.

Going for silly prices on eBay....still not 100% convinced the demand is that massive..I reckon there could be loads going cheap on eBay next summer.

I could of course be wrong.

I think you are, selling 225,000 tickets in over an hour is very impressive.........

Still a very average band and quite awful live act....

Wasn't tempted in the end. I wish I'd bought a couple now, they're going for well over £1000 a pair on Ebay.

Thing is, if you sold them on Ebay you'd have to sit on the cash until June as most ticket sellers refund buyers if a gig is cancelled for whatever reason. What's to say they'll still be getting on in six months time?

The £12million+ ticket money will ensure they're best chums next summer......
