Makes you wonder, doesn't it.

The fans clamoring for a Bunnymen reunion didn't help either.

I make no apologies for my clamoring. I'm a clamorer; it's what I do.

Actually I now blame Jack

juck fack!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Without the Bunnymen now, who else would these inane bands look up too?

The older stuff though, is the mustard which has been fully "cut"... You just can't get music like theirs nowadays.

Secondly, w/out them, what would we do w/out major life transitions accompanied by their music to incorporate our lives?!

Scouser, if you & I may talk civily, why did you post this topic? What are you really thinking about? Just asking, friendly...

Praising the move of booting Les and thinking Siberia was living up to their real potential.

I hope society doesn't call it quits, tho some days I'd like to call it quits at work :razz:

here's my question ... how many new fans do you think reunited old bands like the bunnyboys, etc. pick up when they release new albums now? And are many of them kids? Perhaps they get some exposure if they get name-checked by whipper-snapper bands, but otherwise ... ???

I've seen this "maybe their new album will attract new fans" discussion on what seems like every band msg board I read and I'm just curious.

Read the comments. It answers your question.

Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant are about my age (48), and I think it's amazing that they're still putting out great albums, and touring. They've never sounded better; they have never phoned in an album.

++++++++++++++

i jumped onto the bunnymen bandwagon quite late in life (2002), even though i was a teen during their glory days - crystal days? don't know why i never picked up a copy of "songs to learn and sing" at some trip to the record store during high school.

++++++++++++++++++

To not "date" myself too much, I'll simply say I've been around long enough to have seen Echo and the Bunnymen multiple times, particularly back when Pete was still with us.
+++++++++++++++++++++

I am a long time Bunnymen fan dating back to when I first heard Heaven up Here in 1983.

+++++++++++++++++++++

Been a fan of this groups since the 80's and have bought
most of their collections.

All I can say is ... Ooo! Ow! Hurtful things towards the boyz!!

Hey, the "bunnymen" aren't the same band they were in 1980.

But I still give 'em credit for making the music they make today. It's what they do. They do it clean in my book!

I will buy the new album. I will continue to see them live, in the front row! (won't be attending RAH, though :frown: )

yeah, I know, I should shut it. But give em a break!

I know this would be an unmentionable, untouchable subject on the other forum (that's why I like to come here :cool: ) but do you feel Mac's attitude of not caring about the band has gotten worse since Lorraine left?
I never mentioned Lorraine and what was going on in the marriage at the time on the other forum for fear of having my head chopped off. Was he this apathetic when things were going good between them, because there was a period of time there, probably a decade, where I wasn't following the Bunnymen or seeing their shows?
I only bring this up because two other musicians I care about were greatly affected in a negative way after their wives left them. Their music/songwriting ability especially suffered. :cry:

Well, half of them are gone. I truly believe so much f their sound was forged, was founded by those two members.
