Joyless divisions: the end of New Order

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Joyless divisions: the end of New Order

Postby Kounelaki » Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:31 am

Brought together to promote a new best-of compilation, Peter Hook and his bandmates can barely bring themselves to speak to each other. They reveal where it all went wrong … separately

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/ju ... peter-hook

"We're a bunch of fat old men arguing," Hook says.

Reader comment: "Alas, this is the only conclusion to any decent band... Toured with 'em once and the Bunnymen too, and my band rarely exchanges Xmas cards either...such is life... it's better his way..."

New Order has a Greatest Hits Comp coming out? Well, there's something you don't see every day.

With everyone downloading these days, what's the point of another one? Free advertising in the press?

I bet Sumner is pissed because he isn't getting a cut of Hook's JD thing.

I can't believe Sooty's been performing without Sweep. I always thought of them and Sue as a threesome

And what about Little Cousin Scampi and Matthew? Sooty and Sweep aren't what they used to be anymore.

matthew does standup these days (though not very well I understand), and sings and paints - , he sees it as release from spending years with his hand up a bears arse. true story.

Calls himself Peter Corbett now - great little ditty on his website. Even got the shades, that reminds me of something, but can't think what. Blues Brother perhaps.

You could ghost-write his autobiography.
