Never heard those versions of Baseball Bill, my least liked song on Evergreen. These are much better. Been a while since I have listened to the Bunnymen.

Baseball Bill mixes were Electrafixion tracks, tagged onto the end of Avalanche

Aah, I remember the song had come from the Electrafixion period, same with Just A Touch Away, and redone for Evergreen but I'd never heard the original versions - it's still not a great song, but sounds better on those mixes. Certainly better than some of that dad rock wannabe Coldplay stuff that's been done since.

Baseball Bill is probably one of my least fave Bunnymen songs ever. The scuzzed up Electra version is miles better.Should have been left as a rarity.

The re-release of Avalanche was kind of a joke. The band didn't have the masters of either the EP or the Baseball Bill material. The tracks were ripped from CD & Vinyl, "remastered"(?) and put on CD.

That explains a lot. I always wondered why the recording of Avalanche in particular was so muddy.

Search for a file converter called SWITCH which is free
pretty easy to use drag and drop, pick thee type of file you want it in ie FLAC to wav or mp3 and press the convert button and just sit back.It will also convert back the other way ie. mp3 to FLAC or whatever you want.
The problem with self improvement is knowing when to quit.

Thanks for that.

How do you get the converted files to play in iTunes?

It sounds a lot better.
