Ok, So we here at Noisy Juke are at pains to stress
that we are not allowed to reveal the identity of this
weeks interviewee, only that he's a Scouser in his early 50's.
NJ: So you first noticed a problem with your vocals during rehearsals around 15 years ago?
S: Yeah, that's right tried singing The ****** and just couldn't hit the high notes or sustain them, listening back on the playback demos it was a bit embarrassing.
NJ: So what did you decide to do?
S: Erm, we tried making the song shorter, but it sounded soddin' awful, so we decided to try and put me vocals through the FX pedals, you know what I mean?
NJ: Did that solve the problem?
S: Bloody right it did, the reverb and delay really helped, but I'll tell you what really helped.
NJ: what made the difference?
S: It was the fact that everyone knew the words and sung along, fucking distracting but after a while you think, hey this is alright know what I mean? Only problem was the newer songs as people didn't really get to grips with those really quickly, so in the end we ditched them and threw in the old ones as veryone was so engrossed in singing along they couldn't pay attention to me singing.
NJ: That's fascinating, cheers Mac.
S: Yer not publishing this are you, Will'll go skit!! And remove my name from the transcript I've got a repuatation as the Duke of Norris Green to uphold.
