The Wild Swans UK Summer Tour Dates

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Manchester

The gig in Manchester last night was cool.

If you can get to any of the remaining tour dates...Go!

The band sounded great...Good to see Les playing again.

Met an old friend who's in one of the support bands 'Stealing Sheep'.

Added bonus for me...Got to meet Les, he was cool and signed my 'H.U.H' CD sleeve.

thekla gig on Thursday was brilliant, only about 60 -70 people . didnt seem to bother them, they were joyful not jaded. great atmosphere. missed most of stealing sheep as had unscheduled tour of Bristol . Paul & Les wandering round before and after the gig, very relaxed & friendly. almost like having them at yr own private party. Look forward to reading about Liverpool tonight
some good photos on their webpage from Manchester

And it was magnificent. The above review says it all really. I was expecting something special after the Static shows and that's exactly what we were given. Seeing the band on a 'proper' stage took them on to another level performance wise. It is to their huge credit that the new material sits so seamlessly next to the towering classics such as Revolutionary Spirit and No Bleeding (gets me every time that song), but the new material is up there with the very best.
The band were all in terrific form. Let's just hope that they can keep together as a group as they really are different quality. I can't wait to hear them live again though they'll probably spread their wings before they play around here again.
Had a quick chat with Paul on the way out, a real gent. It was a privilege to have been there.
If you haven't bought the album yet, buy it now. If you have bought it, buy another just in case.

Must say I'm loving The Coldest Winter For A Hundred Years.

It's great to think of Les playing bass in the studio again. Love having Will on the record as well...and Candie Payne (who gives me the horn).

Some great lyrics and Paul's voice is in fine form. Love the new version of Liquid Mercury.

My fave tracks are Chloroform, Underwater (amazing guitar freak out...thought that was the Will track when I first heard it), My Town (oh the memories!) and The Bluebell Wood (which is an identical theme to XTC's River Of Orchids).

But I like them all - it's a superb album.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

It's a classic. I'm still saving the extra CD (I'll get the headphones on in a couple of weeks when the kids are back in school!).

No news of further UK dates as yet, a Liverpool show at the end of the year would be lovely.

Thanks for the support guys. Four Stars for the album in today's new edition of Mojo and a cracking review in The Guardian and the Morning Star.
Video for In Secret being filmed today and tomorrow and then its back in the studio to start the next album next month. Six new songs written already.
Gigs in the Phillipines next month and October and offers to play in Japan Indonesia and the USA.
Did you read the new interview with Les on the pennyblackmusic site? http://www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk/MagSit ... px?id=6100
