Good names for a band...

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Good names for a band...

Postby girlwithnoname » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:52 pm

For fun, I like to think about what would be a good band name. On Rock Band, my fake band's name is Dirty Velvets (there is a story behind this name). I would like to hear some of the names other people have come up with. This should be fun.

EDIT: I forgot to mention a few that I came up with recently:

Bony Union
The Murrs

Both also have stories that go with them.

Hmmm...... I'm 42....how about a band called the Hot Flashers? I can even play bass! But my dream is to have a pink Harley and ride around with my girlfriends in a gang called Chicks in Chaps. Underneath my suburban/ soccer mom exterior is a suffocating biker chick. My 12 yr old son played drums in a band this past year named The Famous Nobodys.

After further contemplation of this topic, I've decided that Disgruntled Employees would be a great name for a band :)

If anyone were going to bite on this topic, I suppose it would have to be Malbert.

Just thought of a good one, Sycophantic Sluts.

Mexican Dynamite Truck Explosion? Can't find Jack's post on it.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

The name of the local band that played at my high school was called Thunderpussy. There seems to be other bands with that name, too, but I never knew what I meant until I recently looked it up

I agree! For 4 yrs. I went to that H.S. and listened to that band, not knowing what their name meant. There was no Google back then.

and its funny how times change - reading that the other day on here about the sex gods couldn't get a deal or whatever because of their name (though what with it being 10 years after the sex pistols who knows) and now theres bands like Stupid Cunt. Though that is arubbish name if you ask me. I quite fancied Shitstorm once though it sounds a bit obvious. Is there one of those around? And I prefer non rude ones meself anyway. Bit silly isn't it.
