yeah... :(

i always thought Will brought the real "sound" to the bunnymen, and it bothers me that he *seems* to get very little say in the songwriting anymore... i wish there was a lot more Sgt. Fuzz influence in the new albums... i really liked the stuff he did on some of siberia... in the margins, of a life, etc.

i feel like Will is a wealth of talent that isn't being used properly...

If they would try something, anything different I could care. Do a country album, do a blues album, do a metal album, do a gospel album. I don't really care but try something different before it's too late. Just please let Will write some music and no more light weight, jangly guitar, pop fluff. I think Parthenon Drive and Stormy Weather are quite possibly their most boring songs ever.

And Mac just because the words rhyme doesn't always make it a good lyric. Try being just a tad cryptic again.

From what I understand from Will's interviews is that they really don't act much like a band anymore which is probably fairly common when you aren't 20 something anymore. That older material was a whole different animal up to Ocean Rain.

Now, Mac writes songs and Will twiddles with them and adds his parts and then brings them to the hired guns and they practice them and then Mac shows up and approves or disapproves and then the process continues. I am over simplifying but I think thats about it. Correct me if I'm wrong but that the feeling I get and thats part of the reason for the departure of Les.

That and the royalty aspect. If Les wasn't going to be brought on board for songwriting credits and royalties then he was just gonna be another hired hand. Nice treatment.

As much as the Cure has gone to crap I will always respect Robert Smith for splitting money evenly cause as he said "I never wanted the Cure to break up over money"

If you'd read my full post, I mentioned calling it a day - the right way - without animosity.

They came back for Evergreen, showed they still had it... then should have shook hands and walked away - before the royalty squabble, before Will was consigned to "adding his bits" to Mac's songs.

I like that song. I think the lyrics are fine.

Your mom likes that song.

BTW, it's really more of a cream than an ointment.
