The "majority" on facebook

• 113 "liked" the announcement of when copies would be mailed out.

• Out of 29 comments six actually had received it and praised it, although none discussed the vocals on the recording.

So in this rather narrow poll, that's 12 out of 13 * (all diehard Bunnymen fans) who gave the thumbs up to the Do It Clean CD, including one who said it was "f**king amazing one of the best things i've bought in absolute ages" - despite being a recent live recording of two classic and much-loved Bunnymen albums being performed that were originally released some 30 years ago. None discussed the vocals on the recording.

Meanwhile, the announcement about Will Sergeant's new acoustic album attracted 401 "likes" and 46 comments about the picture of him standing outside a Cold War bunker.

Got mine today, sounds great. By the way Sinatra would struggle to sing a bloody note these days.

You know how it is. You reach a certain point and you get lazy.

I have the live CD's they produced after shows I've attended where I swore Mac was in amazing vocal form and couldn't wait to play the live CDs and each time I was like "was this the same fucking show I went to?"

That's not to discount what you felt and heard live but at least in my experience it's never the same as reality. And I'm fine with that.

I agree with that ..... it has also happened to me however with the Anglican Cathedral and Union Chapel gigs that is not the case.... those two gigs were the dogs danglies
on the night and on recordings...

That must be a load of Mac and Will's shoulders. Jesus I can't believe I typed that. Pretentious fucker.

I appreciate nobody saying anything.

The point was to show that your claim about facebook - from what I read elsewhere on this thread was in response to FC's original thoughts that an otherwise good recording was let down by Mac's vocals plus any other general criticism of Mac's vocals - was pointless, as most of the comments had come from people who hadn't even received the live cd, had just "liked" the announcement about when copies are being sent out and there appeared to be more interest in Will's picture.

I don't expect Mac's voice to generally be a big issue, but can understand how some fans might not like it when listening to the original recordings. I mean you have had 17-18 years of him singing like that now to get used to it and surely should know what to expect by now.

I only mentioned Facebook to say that the poll here was all we had to go on unless we counted the comments (not the likes about despatch of cd obviously) on Facebook... I didn't say that the comments on Facebook were in the millions and proved the cd was good. Just that the peoples comments here were all we had unless we added the Facebook ones...that's all....

About comments made about cd.... if Mac's voice was an issue then surely lots of people would be complaining - that's all

I am going to shut up now as it is not that important in the great scheme of things ..

I don't think my comments were pointless. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

but we are up to 6 out of 7 say good (ON HERE)... now ;-)

Careful of the sniffing, FC. That's what got Mac in this mess in the first place.

yes, i am the one who said it was f**king amazing. do you need me to spell out why i thought it was? assuming you prefer simple english, live vocals are just what they are - live vocals. i thought they sounded fantastic. if you want fucking perfect vocals, i suggest you go to a celine dion concert. and...the band was in great form. i believe that finalizes my review of how the recording sounded.

i didn't know there were so many accountants on this forum counting who liked what. perhaps you would be better suited for the knitting club so you can discuss vocals in further detail.

Erm, I wasn't making a criticism about the live CD or Mac's vocals or the band, merely making an observation about Wabbit's use of Facebook to counter Fat Cherry's criticism.

I didn't buy the live CD but I attended one of the gigs last year, which I thoroughly enjoyed and thought Mac's vocals were tip-top on the night, unlike a Celin Dion gig - which I have never attended nor have the urge to do so, and I detest her vocal style, her songs and, generally, her - but glad you thought the Do It Clean CD is f**king amazing and the best thing you have ever bought, well at least since you bought Crocodiles and Heaven Up Here albums originally over 30 years ago. Well done.

generally speaking, you can't question why anyone made the comments they did because you didn't even buy the cd to have something to compare it to. and why not ask on the facebook thread instead of hiding here.

unfortunately "the best thing i've bought in ages" does not translate to buying the original prints 30 years ago.

i think you would make a great celine dion supporter. why not give it a go.
