How do you delete an account but, still read posts?

Have a question about the website or a suggestion? Found a typo? Something not working right on the forum?

How do you delete an account but, still read posts?

You don't need an account to read posts.

Correct. Just sign out and don't sign back in if thats what you want. The official forum requires you to have an account to be able to read posts I think.

Thanks.
If you do delete your account too, does all of your posts & pms erase?

A user cannot delete their profile and I will not delete posts except in extreme cases stated here

How can you delete posts if someone already posted underneath it?

Can you delete your account & close out all of your old posts too?

I'm sorry for the questions. I just can't seem to find the answers in the FAQ's list. Thank you.

You can't

No. Only I can do that. I don't want people posting bullshit and then going back and deleting all their posts or accounts. The stuff you post could be preserved for decades on the internet in archives. Think before you post. It's a valuable lesson to learn.

No problem but I thought this has all been covered

Adopting new profiles and posting the same old crap over and over again has motivated this person to try to delete posts and profiles at the end of each "cycle." Recall, if you will, that she pestered Peter to delete her Spooky84 account, ostensibly because she was leaving the internet forever due to the demands of a new job. Of course, she went on to create TWO other accounts immediately afterwards.

Now she is bugging you about deleting her account here. Why don't you offer to delete her account on the condition that she agrees not to create profiles in the future (i.e. block her IP?) Just a suggestion.

Heh, what do you know, the admin on the Buzzcocks forum has just announced that Spooky (i.e. "icicles") is banned:

My favorite post in that thread by the admin:

I fear the Bunnymen and Mozzer forums are getting the brunt of it now.

Seven Seas.

It'a all about the personal shit you post on the forums. Period.
Posting a barrage of general interest topics in order to seem like you're "normal now" ain't gonna cut it.

Suggestion: If you want to air all your personal crap, do it on a more appropriate forum. I googled "psychology forum", and look what I came up with:

http://www.uncommonforum.com/
Psychology & Self Help Forum – Uncommon Knowledge
Personal development and self help discussions in depression, anger management, stress and relationships

Sounds like it's right up your alley.
