There was a break in the heavens as it's been pouring over the past few days so a dry bike ride in was had.
The Cure (Robert,Simon & Jason) arrived on stage about 7:15 played Three Imaginary Boys but not The Weedy Burton -great light show drum kit was on a raised stage behind and the sound was pretty good.Then a break
Back on stage now with Roger on keys to play Seventeen Seconds- better lights and improving sound great,crowd in good harmony voice for play for today more and more people standing up and moving . Then a second break
Back on stage and a big roar as Lol joins in for Faith and soon The Holy Hour is ringing clear and loud.followed Primary oh that bass line.All to soon Faith is played and they exit the stage Now the Encores

Got tickets for tomorrows show arrr now tonights show so here's hoping for a different song selection in the encores.

Update:Night two.June 1st
Exact same set of songs barring the addition of The Weedy Burton.
So a total of 45 songs.
If 44 songs was hell on earth what would 45 be? another "rapture" ?

I think I've mentioned this once or a hundred times but I saw The Cure at Coachella which was torture and then saw them at Curiosa for about 3 hours and they were glorious.

I fault the douchebag hipster crowd, the heat and overpriced beer at Coachella for my dismay.

I saw them play on the "Wish" and "Wild Mood Swings" tours. Both times they put on a good show. What I liked was how they played the hits up front, then each encore got more and more obscure, until they were playing b-sides and rarities... the crowd definitely thinned by the time they finished a 25-minute rendition of A Forest.

That's one of my favorite Cure songs, tho 25 minutes is a bit much.
