Withahip, my husband is from Buffalo, and I was better off moving here than having him move where I lived at the time. He's a doctor and would have to get that particular state's license to practice, which is a pain in the ass, and believe me when I say I was super looking forward to leaving the city in which I grew up.

I have family from Buffalo. My great grandfather had a barbershop at 14 Allen Street but they left for California in 1914.

14 Allen. Still one of the hippest streets in the city.


Buffalo is also the where - ready for this - air conditioning was created.

Rather than being ironic - it tells you how badly people wanted to move south and take a little bit of home with them.
