Was on holiday in New York last week and was feckin stoked to see the Bunnymen were playing on the Friday--got tkts on Ebay and off we went

Great gig- Mac's vocals are at the top of their game just now

Are the NYC crowd too cool for school to jump around--4 from front at Will's side-guy in front of me getting right into it and getting hassled by stoopid chicks moaning they can't see- WTF! They'd last 10 mins in Glasgow!Fortunately, got a fair amount of bouncing going for The Cutter which was amazingly good! Great to hear Do it Clean again too!

See they split the sets the next night--played a 2 song encore of Dancing Horses and NLF after Crocs then 3-song encore after HUH set

..anyways, all good!

BTW, they had a box of 'Themes from Grind' CD's they were punting for $15- couldn't get back in to merchandise stall after gig..anyone going to any of the up coming gigs fancy picking me one up and posting it to me..cheers

How large was the venue? I saw the Washington, DC show, and the club held about 1200 people. That show didn't officially sell out, but it was full. I was going to hit the Toronto and NYC shows when the dates were first posted, but unfortunately it didn't work out that way. The set they played in DC was Crocs first, then right into HUH, encore of Horses, Do It Clean, The Cutter then encore of Killing Moon. I love that even though they're playing the same songs over and over they mix it up a little. And I got no problem with fans bouncing and totally getting into it, but as a shorty (I'm 5'4'' on a good day) give me the courtesy of standing in front of you before doing so, which I got at the show I attended......ok,I'm off my soapbox.

think it held around 1500-was sold out 1st night and less than 100 tkts left before 2nd night!

The secret of being a short-arse (sorry! ) at a gig is don't stand behind tall people and use your shortness to squeeze under people's arms etc to get as close to the front as poss...and don't take any shit off people who try to curb your enjoyment because you're blocking their view..especially four from the front! I've had Japanese tourist fans moaning at the front of a Pogues gig about people bumping into them etc- now, if you've ever been down the front at a Pogues gig you need to superglue your specs on and say a Hail Mary

The first dude to hit the floor at the DC show was like, 6 foot 2 at least....does HE need to be in the front row? I think not....but like I said, there was a very height conscious man who helped me get to the front row....and they say chivalry is dead. HA!
