Okay this aroused my interest in the band again.

Like that use of aroused Billy?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Now there's a triumvirate to equal the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

They haven't decided if they're going (wink wink nudge nudge) but they have posted this on facebook:

EATB would like to thank you all for your views on if we should play Tel Aviv.
While we completely understand peoples passion over this subject could we please ask that you do not turn this Facebook page in to a political battle ground.
Please use email address israel@bunnymen.com to send your comments to.
The Echo & The Bunnymen Facebook page is for Bunnymen fans to enjoy & discuss the bands music.
Cheers
EATB

When we are there we may just play King of Kings or Shroud of Turin just to irritate the natives [/color]

I don't wanna jinx it, but that's not what Ian said to us.

I'd be pretty pissed if I were a Palestinian. Why can't they play both Israel and Palestine?

I mean really? Why not do an entire Middle Eastern Tour. Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya.

Marketing magic right there.

I'd support an Israeli-Palestinian state and a gig for both (or maybe even performing in Gaza or some such thing.) As it is, they performed in Tel-Aviv, I guess it was a more economically realistic option. I'm not entirely sure Palestinians weren't able to show up? That being said, I'm not very educated on some things, we didn't learn what sort of privilege we have over the Palestinians at school, I know what I know from talking to people or watching the news.

Never mind the Palestinians, I doubt Gaza could make it either.

They could play a few impromptu street shows in said countries. The news shows plenty of passionate peoples in the streets,so have a new and expanding audience, though may need a very big PA to be heard over chanting and occasional gun shot. The Bunnymen taking it to the streets-promotion 101.
