Anyone ever see a ghost?

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

I told my friends if I croak to come looking for me cause I'd be doing appearances and signing autographs as a ghost every hour.

The Hollywood Forever Day of the Dead celebration is so much fun, good food, booze, great displays and cool vendors. Plus checking out the headstones and mausoleums is cool too. The one containing Rudolph Valentino is creepy and the legeng is every night a female ghost leaves a red rose at his grave. Kinda old Hollywood romantic.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

is this the same Forest Lawn? :

Oh lay me down in Forest Lawn in a silver casket
Put golden flowers over my head in a silver basket
Let drum and bugle corp play Taps while cannons roar
As sixteen libertied employees sell souvenirs from the funeral store

I want to go simply when I go
They’ll give me a simple funeral there I know
With a casket lined in fleece
And fireworks spelling out 'Rest In Peace'
Oh take me when I’m gone to Forest Lawn

Oh lay me down in Forest Lawn they understand there
They have a heavenly choir and a military band there
Just put me in their care
I’ll find my comfort there
With sixteen planes and a last salute, they’ll drop across in a parachute

I want to go simply when I go
They’ll give me a simple funeral there I know
With a hundred strolling strings
And topless dancers with golden wings
Oh take me when I’m gone to Forest Lawn

Oh, come, come, come, come
Come to the church in the wild wood
Kindly leave a contribution in the pail
Be as simple and as trusting as a child would
And we’ll sell you the church in the dale

To find a simple resting place is my desire
To lay me down with a smiling face comes a little bit higher
My likeness cast in brass will stand in plastic grass
While weights and hidden springs will tip its hat to the mourners filing past

I want to go simply when I go
They’ll give me a simple funeral there I know
I’ll lie beneath the sand
With piped-in tapes of Billy Graham
Oh take me when I’m gone to Forest Lawn

Rock of Ages cleft for me
For a slightly higher fee

Oh take me when I’m gone to forest lawn!

hahaha always thought that song was hilarious!! (John Denver recorded it)

(hey, there were worse people i could listen to in the 70's)

My grandmother and my sister both promised me before they died that they'd come back as ghosts (or whatever) if they could.

Nothing! Nada! Zilch! Diddly squat!

Therefore, I'm still a skeptical atheist.

Maybe they are just liars.

Maybe skeptical atheists are not predisposed to seeing ghosts? Try being agnostic. It might help.

That's interesting that you say that. I went to public school and I'm Catholic but don't believe in the religion. I DO believe there is some kind of God (AND ghosts). My son agrees.
My Husband (who went to Catholic school) is an atheist who doesn't believe in either.
My daughter is also an atheist but she believes in ghosts.

I'll look for you BF when you're performing at the cemetery. If I'm dead, we can do a duet. Do you think you'll still resemble your avatar?

God I hope not. Who can live up to Chris Hansen? I don't even want to try. Although I derive great pleasure from telling people to "take a seat".

I have no idea why I'm predisposed to believing in ghosts, aliens and cryptozoology. I doubt religion played any part. I stopped going to church about 12 years ago.

OK, what the hell is cryptozoology?

Church never felt right to me. I think it was the screaming priests.

What really made me stop though was when my autistic son was ready to make his communion and I told the priest he couldn't read and would never be able to memorize the answers to all those questions, plus the fact that he couldn't sit still very long in a classroom situation. The priest told me, "it was OK, he could study at home"!
That was my last time near a Catholic church. I never baptized my daughter either, after that. But, I still believe that something created us. My Husband thinks we were accidents.

It's a made up science to study unknown animals like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. It gives it a legitimate sounding name but it's not like you can go to school for it or get a degree.

I was raised Mormon but left when I moved out at 18. I sure as hell wasn't gonna pedal a bike for two years in some third world country with no paved roads trying to convince the natives that Joseph Smith wasn't a con man. I tried a few other churches but they were all about hatred towards others who weren't of the same faith or gay people. One cool thing I can say about the Mormons is in my time there I never heard any other religion or group of people put down. They're good people even though they believe some weird shit and most of my family is still involved so I don't want to be too hard on them. What always struck me as odd (being we're ont he paranormal and conspiracy theories) is my mother who is very traditional and conservative told me when I was probably 8 or 9 that she believed Jesus and Mary Magdelene were married. And this was about 20 years before all that DaVinci code crap. I'm not sure why she felt the need to tell me but I've believed her ever since.

I've found a lot of people don't seem to view Autism as a real handicap so the Priest incident doesn't surprise me.

I believe in Bigfoot and the Loch Ness. I also believe in the Jersey Devil! And UFOs. And ghosts.

My cousin is married to a Mormon and lives in Tonopah, Nevada ? The lifestyle was hard to get used to for her. No caffeine or alcohol. She found the 2nd one harder to give up.
That's one thing you can say about Catholic priests, they don't stay away from alcohol!

I used to go to Sunday school sometimes with my cousins because they were Protestant and my Dad was too. You're right about other religions. I was being taught in my religion classes that God only comes to Catholics and I went around telling all my Protestant friends and relatives. I was just a little kid but I can't believe I did that!!

hey, hey, don't thrash yourself ... that's part of the BS the nuns fed kids back in the day. I remember in first grade feeling sorry for "the publics" on my street because they wouldn't go to heaven when they died cuz they weren't Catholic. I quickly got over that
