We left the house at 20.30 the doors would open at 21.00…We took the underground …I was thinking …
How many would be there ?? How it will be ?? This would be my son’s second gig (1st was “the Damned”
2nd of May 2008 , almost 3 years ago, at the same place )…I was a bit tired …thinking how should I feel…
I was thinking of my good friends’ wishes fm the Damned’s MB esp. Loki’s words :
“Sing every song with them and dance yourself silly!!”….
When we arrived the supporting band “Rosebleed” had already started…They were a five young people
Band around 20 years old playing something in-between “Tool” and “Porcupine Tree” sound…They were nice but not
really my style…
At 22.30 the Bunnymen came on stage….The 1st song was “Going up” and the 2nd one was“show of strength”…
In their three previous Athens gigs played those two songs in the beginning …but what would be next ?
Mac looked really happy he was there…In the 3 previous gigs I remember him not so much … “happy”
if I should say…He was asking fm the audience to remind him how was “Thank you” in Greek…
…and then…ha, ha …I don’t know if Gagarin club is a magical place or my son is so lucky…
They gave everything they had …Mac was asking to give him cigarettes…then he started giving cigarettes
to the people…Finally he threw the whole box to the audience…Then he threw his towel offstage into the crowd…
Again later he threw a second one, but with a football style…well …
…the towel stuck on the roof …
Will, was just perfect. His style is unique …the guy is in the top…In fact they were all excellent, the bass guy who
never smiles, the 2nd guitarist, the keyboardist and their drummer …I think Will and Mac have done excellent choices.
They gave us the gig’s songs but I couldn’t get one…So the songs which I remember all are not in the correct order…

They played 19 yes nineteen songs….

Going Up
Show of Strength
Rescue
Villiers Terrace
All that Jazz
Do It Clean
The Disease
All my colours/Zimbo
The Cutter
The Back of Love
Silver
Seven Seas
The Killing Moon
Bedbugs and Ballyhoo
Lips Like Sugar
Bring on the Dancing Horses
Nothing Lasts Forever - Walk on the Wild Side – The Fountain –Nothing Lasts Forever
Never Stop
Think I need it too

In-between two songs Mac mentioned some lyrics fm “In the Margin songs”…exactly those
which I mentioned in my “Facebook” wall…Does he spy on me ?
“I need to dream how, I used to dream
help me believe how, I used to believe”

My son and his friend really enjoyed the gig and imho it was their best gig …It was a magic night…
Thank you Will, thank you Mac, thank you Bunnymen…

Sounds like Mac is on a roll at the moment and enjoying performing. Are they still making their way across to Israel to follow in the footsteps of "Elton John who on May 1st 1979 became the first pop star to perform in Israel"
The problem with self improvement is knowing when to quit.
