i think the barflys should have stayed in the bar!!
but i also think Mac has been in the business long enough to just man up and get on with it. i went with my non believer who had a different take on the evening. he thought Mac was openly contemptuous of his fans and turned in an amateurish performance with a reactionary commentary...... mind you non believer was a bit miffed that i made him drive and then only had 1 small glass of wine.

i had a good time so it is all a question of perspective, for me it was worth it

Life's like a box of chocolates and whilst we sometimes get the hazelnut caramels, those bastard coffee and orange creams are still lurking there, somewhere.

Doesn't that sum it up though?

An audience generally will have some kind of respect especially when they have paid to come and see an intimate show but Ian has created an atmosphere of seeing a stand up comic - this allows heckling.

Not being able to finish a song is just not acceptable from an artist of his experience and talent - maybe you could forgive him once but he does this on a regular basis.

If a show is put on that obviously is a slap dash put together as if at the local pub - the audience will react accordingly especially when the artist is being derogatory about them.

From what I gather there was no support and no strings when these were advertised - or am I wrong here? Saving money will be the answer there.

Sounds like Mac and co treated it like a paid rehearsal and didn't give a toss because it wasn't a major city - how rude and conceited.

I imagine when the reviews come in from the show in London it will be a different story.

I am hoping it will anyway - shouldn't be too far away.

There is just no consistency with Mac.

i think anyone who had read previous posts on Macs solo shows knew it might be a less than perfect night.
he does it because we let him.
whats the alternative - a boycott?

in retrospect i think the ticket price was a bit steep for what it was but thats probably because most Guildhall gigs are between £10 - £14.

eagerly awaiting news of last night
