On what the punters want.......?

Friend works in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and he was telling me they have already shifted over 60% of the tickets for the Ocean Rain show, which is almost 1500 tickets....

That is already more than they sold for the Crocs & HUH show and slightly less than the last time they played the Barrowlands.......

Don't know what to make of that surprised at how well it's selling but slightly disappointed on the predictability of knowing that the vast majority wanna hear the Hits....

Ach well, am off to eat some Tapas...............

Fully agree Jimbo.I couldnt get alot of interest from casual Bunny fans for Crocs/HUH,but shifted three instantly for OR again even at £41.Whilst Im glad they are playing again its a real backwards move artistically. But lets face it.....Fountain was recorded 2007 and we havnt heard one new song since then, even Mac solo. Will's far more into his painting......I dont know,I really dont.

The Ocean Rain show was good and I can understand why it will sell better.

Doesn't negate the fact that they were supposed to be one off shows and now we can see it in smaller venues, this is disappointing for those fans who paid good money for tickets, travel and accommodation in 2008.

Will they pay again ? maybe if the show is coming near to them.

Mr. Smith is right about the new material though surely there is something in the works.

Hasn't Mac got a new solo album or kids album what about 'Little Dwarf
he talked up in a few interviews.

What is a little dwarf? Is it a dwarf who is more dwarf than other dwarfs?

As far as am aware the band never claimed that the shows were one offs, I think people just assumed they were... Am happy to be proved wrong if someone can find anything from the band saying they were one off shows........

I dimly remember there being something along those lines in the initial announcement. Might have imagined it, though.

I think doing Ocean Rain again is a lame move and I can't generate any interest in the Crocs/HUH shows but the 2008 Ocean Rain show will always remain special for me. Three days of drunken debauchery in NY with Mr. Brian, JackT, withahip, Epsilon, Zabird and many others from this forum.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I seem to remember it being billed as "exclusive" when the show was announced for the Royal Albert Hall and then the Liverpool Arena and NYC shows were added later when the original show was successful. But maybe that was just my perception or a news article said that. Maybe we can check on the BOF...oh yeah

I recall the first show (RAH) being billed as "exclusive." When the RCMH date was announced, some of us (probably me) were moaning about it turning into a traveling sideshow. Then the Liverpool date followed and then more North American dates, and now more British dates. I'm going out on a limb, but I don't think the RAH show was really that exclusive.....

I suppose if RAH hadn't been successful, it would have been a one-time event. And now, as long as tickets are selling, they'll keep playing that album.

OR only should have been played in that cave where the album cover was shot. One and done. That would have been spectacular!

Perhaps they could have done the full orchestra thing elsewhere and done Carnglaze Caverns as a smaller performance, offering tickets via the Bunnymen website only to a select few. Probably wouldn't have got a full string orchestra in there (see below).

The way I see it is that everything the Bunnymen do now is a money making exercise, so somewhere like Carnglaze is out of the question, as it wouldn't hold sufficient paying punters. Shame really because that would have been one hell of a place for them to perform.

I distinctly recall the Radio City show advertised as "if you only see one ultra exclusive, one time only, never to be played in any other city event this year, make it the one time only performance of Echo & the Bunnymen's masterpiece "Ocean Rain" October 1st, 2008 at Radio City Music Hall"

I have the poster somewhere. I'll try and find it.

Yup! That's it. BF got the exact wording. No need for the poster, Bf. We all believe you.
