I believed them so journeyed to Liverpool in November 2008 for the occasion which I suspect a lot of other people did as well.

Too many let downs with this band.

They tell lies, can't spell, cancel shows, punch up audience members, ridicule fans and put down other bands continually.

Is this maybe the real reason we like them?

Or maybe it's because they're the greatest bloody band there ever was with what is still the coolest frontman and untouchable genius on guitar. Maybe.

Dave you'll have to give me the low down on the set with an expected picking of songs from their entire back catalogue rather than a chicken in the basket revolving encore of Common People. I thought about going to a festival to catch them, but then I don't do music festivals, so will have to wait impatiently for a nationwide UK tour to be announced where I'll go to at least two or more performances.

And don't you think Gadaffi looks like an ageing 80s rock singer?

He is quite popular in the nightclubs with his most recent hit single, even if nobody understands a bloody word of it.

Going back to the Oceanrain gigs, is the Liverpool Philharmonic seating only? I might go to that one as well as the Paladium.

I think they are all seated venues. People do end up standing though if they fancy a bop to the music - Ocean Rain isn't exactly a danceable album though is it?

let's make some rumours up!!

for example that Ocean rain is to be played with
weird instruments, like a banjo for killing moon.
a mouth organ for crystal days. and thorn of crowns
with a moog sythesiser.

much more fun.

Holy shit that's Mac with a tan and a goatee!

Way a second I thought I was the only one here that would put Mac in the top 100 front men of all time.

More stuff off Crocs/HUH were the only performances I was really waiting for over the last 13 years (other than hearing In Bluer Skies and Higher Hell live) so I was no way disappointed with that. I would like to hear Evergreen peformed in its entirety as a bit of a closure for the live stuff, given that's where it started when I got a bit bored with Pulp's musical direction and started checking the Bunnymen out. Pulp are back this summer, so I can get all nostalgic properly as 1980s Bunnymen isn't really my era (neither is 1980s Pulp for that matter). I'm quite excited about that even before they have announced a tour proper. I watched a repeat of the whole of Pulp's Glastonbury performance on TV a few weeks ago and for the first time for quite a while, a little tear came out of my ghostie eye - it moved me that much...

I would pay good money to see Jarvis Cocker do Justin Bieber covers backed only by someone playing the spoons.

Palladium is expensive. Can't remember what it cost me to see Björk there. I was a student tosspot ghostie back then and also had to travel more than eight hours from where I was living to get to the venue, so probably answers where my student grant for a year went.

For the less disillusioned among us (and even those disillusioned with certain members of the band), I notice they are offering a VIP package comprising:

- Signed poster
- Live DVD of Ocean Rain
- Meet & greet with Ian McCulloch or Will Sergeant
- Tour laminate
- Seat in the 2 front rows for the concert

All for £97-£108. Personally, I would have added the sound check to that. Nothing about what I'd proposed to Voodoo Billy. Bit steep but relective of the normal ticket prices of these places. I guess some people will jump at that opportunity.
