Thinking about going to the LA gig, too.

I recently had the idea of seeing the Bunnymen at their LA show as well as the San Francisco show for which I already have tickets. It's not *that* far of a drive. Can I get any first-hand feedback on what the LA venue is like? I'd appreciate it!

Have seen several shows there. Not my favorite L.A. venue -- it's kinda cold and modern looking, with so-so acoustics. Tucked away in L.A. Live, which is next to the Staples Center on the southern end of downtown. There's standing downstairs and seated balconies upstairs. Oh, and if you want in the pit, get there early to get a pass. Only way you're gonna get up close to Will and/or Mac. Otherwise, there are TV screens downstairs. Never been in the balcony, but it looks steep. Several bars/restaurants in L.A. Live, plus reasonable parking near the venue ($10-$20).

If you do come down for the L.A. show, don't forget they're playing the Mouse House in Anaheim the next night ... HOB at Downtown Disney. Pretty good place to see a show. Plus, there's free parking. And all the Disney/people watching you can stand at downtown disney.

LA is the only place I've been to where one has to go through an airport style screening procedure to see a concert. I assume Club Nokia has a metal detector one must pass through to get inside. How often do they have gun battles or stabbings at concerts in LA?

I'll be sure to leave the AK-47 at home, then.

I know that sounds funny now but you dont know who reads this and when that's read out loud in front of a secret military court it takes on a certain gravity.

I'll get court-martialed for leaving my automatic weapon at home? Should I bring it instead?

(NOTE to CIA, ATF, and FBI (Scotland Yard?): I don't own an AK-47.)

Brian, Is this kind of cross-contamination of thread topics allowed? I'm trying to have a nice, respectable conversation here!
