Should I get Mysterio?

looking at it on amazon, I found a review from our old friend King of Kings (I presume).

Dude's name is PERCY. No wonder he's such a dickhole.

Now now, we can't help what our parents name us. Ivan is better than Percy, as names go, but only marginally so.

I can't imagine many of these re-issues were made or sold but it still surprises me that none can be found in all the usual places. I even checked some Japanese and other European sites.

It seems like if you want the physical copy used or new you are out of luck for now and have to live overseas to get the mp3's.

Maybe a kind fan here can help out podge *ahem* somehow...via PM or e-mail as I'd rather not discuss other ways to get this on this forum. I'm kind of on the fence whether or not this release is fair game since it appears to be out of print physically but it is available to non-US via downloads.

It amazes me the prices both the Candleland/Mysterio and the expanded Electrafixion set go for these days. They must only have been available for a couple of weeks.

And it's not like they've aged well. Well Electrafixion still rocks but Candleland and Mysterio? Meh.

I always thought Candleland sounded a bit thin. Last time I heard both I thought there were more songs on Mysterio that I enjoyed because the synths and drum machines kind of ruined Candleland for me and there was more guitar on Mysterio. Nothing wrong with synths and drum machines if done well but like you said it does sound dated.

There's some genuine rocking moments and intriguing sounds on Mysterio but they're few and far between and yeah Candleland is DATED.

I would be curious to know how many of the re-masters were made and sold but I've never really been able to dig up anything on actual sales of Bunnymen recordings after Evergreen, just Gold and Platinum status but no actual units sold.

For something like this do you think even more than a few thousand were sold or made? I also can't imagine anyone but the most dedicated Bunnymen fan buying this reissue as I have never heard of anyone that was just a McCulloch solo fan, just Bunnymen fans who kind of tolerate his solo work.

Also, how long after Candleland did it come out?

It isn't a bad album. I went to the Chicago CD release. all three of us enjoyed the good times (no joke). There are some good songs on it. Some better then Candleland.
