White Stripes.... thats the way to do it

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I can understand why people buy records when the lead singer or band member dies, or a surge for anything live, as a momentum of past gigs. But a surge in album sales because of a split? Like oh no that band will be no more! I remember that hit single they had - I can't remember the title but it brings back memories - and that alleged porno vid of the lady drummer that wasn't her, so I must buy their records now when I couldn't be arsed to when they were together. And I didn't like them anyway, apart from that single that I can't remember. I was more into Red Stripe. You are talking about beer aren't you?

You'd assume bona fide White Stripes fans though will already own their records already so don't need to buy them again.

The single was seven nation army or something like that. I kind of liked them, because they were a duo and the drummer was a girl, and they sounded pretty good.

I don't think the post break-up surge in sales is anything new. There's a pretty famous band from Liverpool that happened to back in the day, before that band's members started checking out.

Jack White's a talented guy - he works with different artists or groups of artists to craft the sound he wants out of them. The White Stripes' sound was bare and unique... but you can take that only so far. His work in Raconteurs and the Dead Weather (who I had the opportunity to see live last summer) is miles away from the thump thump and fuzz guitar.

I almost posted that as well, but it's nearly 5 years old. Very poppy though, isn't it? I like the weirdness of The Dead Weather over that.

I thought this, still do, was a great song from The Raconteurs when it came out. Video is cool with the animated plastic doll and so forth.

yes this is very good! Parts of it really surprised me. It's also funny to see an older Page doing air guitar while doing that Page look where he turns his head and purses his lips. Just to see those 3 interact is kind of bizarre as they are all from distinctly different generations, styles and approaches to music.
