Any body here w/ suggestions?

Tired of discussing the Bunnymen and all the bands that have been influenced by them? This is the place for you.

Any body here w/ suggestions?

Postby oddbunny » Tue Jan 18, 2011 3:12 pm

My roommate & myself just booked our trip to Australia. I can't believe we're going to the land of Oz. Holy Crap. We can pull-it-off.

We leave in May. We'll probably miss the B-men though. Hope not. ?????

I'm writing to ask if any body here is from Australia & can provide some tips? We got a hotel in town, Sydney. The Menzies. We are doing just the general stuff. Canberra, Bondi Beach, Melbourne & Sydney. No climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge for us though. lol

Any tips or advices, we'd appreciate it.

Even more so, any notice of when the B-men are arriving in America? Tour dates? We hope not to miss them.

Thank you.

Shark repellent is always useful, so I have been told. There's hundreds of the pesky buggers at this time of the year and you really don't want them to bite you. Probably worse what with the warm weather and flood water, perfect kind of environment for them to hatch out. A bag of shrimps for Barbie is supposed to be a good way of getting in the good books of any Aussies, rather than for Cindy as these plastic dolls aren't so popular these days. Oh, and make sure you discuss the recent Ashes cricket tournament at every opportunity while praising the English for being so good. That will win you many Aussie friends while you are there. If you follow these tips, you'll have a trip to remember for the rest of your life.

To add to the ghost of guitarplayers fine fine travel tips...Make lots of Crocodile Dundee and Men at Work references. They love that. It shows you have bothered to study their culture. Also remind them that all of their British ancestors were dangerous criminals who couldn't make it in a civilized society. It won't hurt to download the Outback Steakhouse Location Finder app for your smartphone. Yep these tips will get you far!

Almost forgot. Boomerangs. Learn how to use one and demonstrate your skills as soon as you land at the airport. It is traditional sign of respect that goes back over 100 years.

So that is for finding a place when you are in the Aussie Outback? Cool.

You may want to change your ringtone to a didgeridoo. It's the law.

You MUST visit Albert Dock (pay no attention to men yelling out car windows at you).

On second thought, wait... that's Liverpool. Ever been to Liverpool?

Australia's the one with PeterG Jackson, innit?

Remember Fosters is Australian for beer.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

If you're stuck for a conversation piece, remember to ask them on which vessel their grandparents were shipped over there and whether or not they are of the opinion their forefathers received a fair trial.

YES the much better, better team won this time but it only took 24 years to win on Australian soil.
I didn't realise it was so hard living here, yes the occasional shark and crocodile attack but it's mostly the tourists, they tend to leave the "locals" alone.
