Trish Keenan RIP

Trish Keenan, vocalist of English electronic group Broadcast, passed away at 9 AM this morning (Jan. 14) from complications of pneumonia. The singer battled the illness in intensive care for the past two weeks, according to a statement released by Warp Records this morning.

I love Broadcast and I was expecting to see them at the next Primavera Sound. Sad news and great loss indeed. RIP.

Today brought the sad news that Trish Keenan, frontwoman of the British experimental pop outfit Broadcast, had passed away at the age of 42. As the news circulated, many artists took to Twitter to express their feelings. Below, we've collected the thoughts of many of those people.

I was listening to Broadcast on my train ride home, only to read the news of her passing when I got home. Very very sad indeed.

Wasn't into Broadcast much myself, apart from a few tracks here and there, but very very sad indeed to learn of her death.

a shock,just got to see Broadcast on 10th December 2010.She looked pretty disinterested on stage but still played their allocated time-maybe she was already sick and didn't realise.

That's pretty shocking to hear. Pneumonia? Sad. I have one of their albums, pretty good stuff.
