The Church (Winter Tour, 2011...)

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Anybody here a fan?
I just saw them twice for their 30th anniversary tour. Pittsburgh & Sellersville PA. Great gigs, free program & free CD, can't beat that. Nice...

BTW....I just got tix to the Philly show this past Saturday. Stoked.

I like that reptile song.

Untitled #23, Priest=Aura and Starfish performed in their entirety in one night. In an unprecedented touring event the church return to select cities in the USA to play not one, but three classic albums in one night!

Ok that's just fucking awesome. If tickets are a million dollars wild horses won't keep me from this. I've always wanted to here Ripple live.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

It IS fucking awesome. Back in the day, they rocked. Marty Willson-Piper's guitar work is SO highly underrated.

Priest =s Aura, think of the beginning of that song, with its atmospheric energy. My God.

Happenstance & Operetta off of Untitled #23, the best tracks, IMHO

& my God...just to hear Ripple, NSEW & Hotel Womb live off of Starfish will be excellent.

I hope you get to go...

they played Ripple here. Reptile just flat out sucked when they played it here. They have gotten so they actually resent playing that tune.

According to their official site, you have to admit, they've been working their asses off for years & really not received the full credit where it's been due.

Sounds familiar?

In the Robert Lurie book, No Certainty Attached, it was documented that them & the Bunnymen played together back in the 80s. It was & is still similar in experiences.

Still though, I am with some of you here. I would've liked other albums to be played in their entirety but, with what they are actually performing, I'm SO totally not complaining.

Saw them play on 5th Dec in Sydney for the 30th Anniversary shows great, great night.Got to talk to SK as he and Marty were on the street outside the venue before the show.Great sound and banter .Steve seems to be getting funnier on each outing .Would love to see them play the 3 albums but will have to make do with their one off show at the Sydney Opera House in April along with orchestra so looking forwards to that.

Rumor has it there's a possibility of another free program. Details shady though.

All dates firmly booked no others to be announced.

Just hope they know of good drivers for Chicago, MA, NY and other cities in the dead of winter!

I am curious of what the Bunnymen think & rate of them. Hmmmm

@Girlwithnoname: You definately should go! Well worth the money & night-out!

@Dave: I hope they come over for you guys too.
