New Album Interview

Postby crystal89 » Sun Nov 28, 2010 4:54 pm

Owing to a recent resurgence in popularity, seminal
post-punk veterans Echo and the Bunnymen are to record their
12th album in all early next year on the back of touring their
first and second albums back to back, promting singer Ian McCulloch
to make an effort for once and sing properly

Says Will Seargent, founding member and the constant prescence.

"This new album is very different, it's going to have more of me on it, lots
of guitars and weird sounding stuff."

"Mac's also contributed as well, he's got a great sounding one, something like
"mine's the first one" I've got a couple too, my fave's "the lakeside" it's well cool
and psychedelic like."

The band plan to record in their hometown of liverpool, and Seargent
readily agrees that the band's links with the city stand them in good stead.

"yeah we could have made it big if we left, but you know there's only one thing
worse than being a try hard, and that's being a fake"

As to what fans can expect in 2011, well the Bunnymen have yet to confirm tourdates, something which has nothing to do with Mac's upcoming autobiography.

"nah it's just the usual things, management issues, getting up and being bothered, but if it's crap I may use it to club him one!!"

the fans though will not be disappointed.

"yeah we're planning to do something big next year"

watch this space...

Is it that difficult to spell "Sergeant" correctly? My awesome Will does not deserve to have his name butchered again and again!

As for his increased presence on the forthcoming album.....if this is true, I will be a happy woman.

So which publication does this "interview" come from or is this in response to Fat Cherry's suggestion of starting a new album rumour?

No source for this interview

Must be a fake

it's a shame because we all wait (especially here outside UK) for more tour dates !! ... and a new album with more Will than Mac in it
To the logical limit

based on the current direction, next year
will see another greatest hits reissue, official or otherwise
with all the usual tracks, plus TINIT.

Did I miss something? When did "Think I Need It Too" become a great hit... let alone a "greatest" hit?

well they've only had 3 UK top ten singles, so define hit. Unless we're suggesting Proxy should go on? Personally i think a singles album should be put out. Good balance of old and new. Would be a winner. TOP 40 at least.

Great idea. Maybe stick in a DVD in there of all the videos? Sell it in Tescos... Just like More Songs to Learn and Sing that was released in 2006 by a major record company under the Korova name again and still didn't chart highly, if it charted at all, which I don't think it did.

Or MSTLASTWRI2BAMRCUTKNAASDCH,IICAA,WIDTID for short.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Must of had a different title over your way. Must of had a lengthy title. Here it was:

TVBOE & TBMSTLAS

That's pronounced "TV-bo AND T-bum-stlass", or "Yet another best of... with a dvd" in english.
