Hope so. His guitar playing sounded great at St George's Hall in May.

Looks more likely that he's "teaching" Gordie how to
play Heaven up Here or another song requiring little technical
Know how.

Mac: Now lad, for this one, muff the strings.
Gordie: you mean mute.
Mac (slaps gordie across the chops) :don't be so cheeky
Gordie: sorry Mac
Mac: Muff the strings and play really fast, the sound'll be lost to the audience
and they'll be amazed by how fast you can strum the soddin' guitar.
Gordie: Wow Mac you're the best teacher of all time.
Mac: I know.

Meanwhile in the Corner a large man with a fringe shakes his head in disbelief, muttering under his breath something that sounds suspiciously like "fecking amateurs."

Mac will have to play his guitar on stage now given that photo comes direct from their twatter feed. Nation expects now.

Thankfully, Mac though isn't going to do a Jim Morrison and actually play with his "pinky" on stage, which I thought by the title of this thread was what I was going to see a picture of.

Has anyone else noticed, apart from
the obligatory, yes Mac does do rehersals photo shot,
that no one else is there as well.

Seems like Mac is trying to recreate Heaven up Here, by going
in late, after the rest have fiddled and toiled away for hours.

With the Bunnymen, I was much more Mick Jagger holdin' me willy on stage and wearin' no undies and all that.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Normally, I'd agree but unless this pic was staged by der management, there is at least two other people in that room. There is somebody wearing black DMs with rolled-up jeans to the left of the pic and then there is somebody holding the camera. Even if it is stage managed, it makes a change to see Mac supposedly taking part in rehearsals, even if he is alone and holding his pinky.

Alone and holding his pinky.... Oo-er matron...

I think it's great Mac will likely be playing some guitar for the shows. It's one of the things we bitch about here.

What would be great is if there is no Gordy and Mac just plays the songs and sings like some of the great recordings from 81....too much to ask?

Yeah Gordie's shit, too much gain and scratchy riff playing,
unless of course he's playing bass.

Maybe there'll be a "special announcement" soon.

But is it to much to hope and wish?

Now let start the rumours... Les is back!!

I like Gordie. He does love his scratchy strat sound though. And Sharleen.Top guy though.I just think the only way they will pull this off is to go back to four in a line plus keys.

I am wondering whether or not this might actually
be the case. MAc back on rhythm, Gordie on Bass.
