I'm sure they'll be the best-selling artists on iTunes for a while, but it just seems to me they've waited waaay too long. Anybody who really wanted the Beatles on their iPod would've ripped their CDs years ago...then again when the remastered boxsets came out last year.

according to the news today, once they tore themselves away from the royal wedding, sales are moderate, probably for the reasons frank mentions. At lunchtime today the best selling track was twist and shout, apparently because its never appeared on anything but the original album it was on. is that true? It was on the bbc so must be i guess, unless i heard wrong. that happens alot these days. also he said, we shouldn't underestimate the 'ferris beuller effect'. crazy.

as for who cares, the next generation of music buying public who'd never trawl through the white album but if they heard that one about little piggies on some rom com soundtrack or the latest episode of Skins would go and download it.
