Them were the days. I was a ball boy in a second division tie in the early 1980s. Great fun. Oversized umbro tracksuit. Muddy football pitch and as a mere child, subjected to various rude words from the stands because I didn't give the ball back to a player for a throw-in quick enough. Hey ho, at least I wasn't an overweight mascot (or whatever they call ball boys these days) in an ill-fitting replica kit and there were no little girl ball boys or overpaid footballers looking like little girls in sight either.

The days when the only hairbands in sight were worn by the ladies in the pie hut not by the fucking nancies on the pitch.

This little runt over the weekend. He would have got a kickin' or head down the toilet back in my day for this display. And that wouldn't have been from his fellow ball boys either.

He's not exactly lacking in confidence is he? Did you really mean 'runt' or was it a typo?

Frank dear boy, you're confusing anti-Americanism with anti-Hicks&Gillettism. Hicks and Gillett rode into town promising the fucking earth and all they actually delivered was £280 million (or thereabouts) worth of debt, almost putting the club into administration and turning the most successful British team of all time into a global laughing stock. Ok, a few morons were filmed burning the Stars & Stripes outside Anfield but all the ill feeling was directed at the two cowboy owners, not Yanks in general.
We now have new American owners btw and the general feeling is one of cautious optimism.

I've never really understood how Benitez has come out of this unscathed. He inherited a cracking squad, won the Champions League with it.

He then went on to outspend most teams in the Premier League, buying dodgy and average players along the way.

It's too easy to blame Hicks.

If he'd had any regard for the club he'd have foregone his tasty pay-off, seeing he'd lined up a cushy new number within a matter of weeks.

I think I lot of Liverpool fans forget that Hicks and Gillett lost about £150m with the effective forced sale of Liverpool.Thats quite a tidy sum to lose in anyone's world so I cant blame them for digging in.But hey ho life moves on and surprise surprise Liverpool are out of the bottom three so at least youtube is safe for a while.

Not being fattest but.....anyone see that male geordie fan with massive tits and his top off wobbling at half-time yesterday?I thought Micky Quinn was back on the terraces.

Also caught some of the NFL match at Wembley on telly-jesus that one quarterback took a right hit straight in the chest -ouch indeed.Cue another advert break..............................

Probably fat geordies fill half St James Park during a home match. Don't know if this is the same guy, but a specimen from last season at an away match.

He can advocate a 39th game all he wants but in reality it's not going to happen, as for giving his backing to Hodgson - sounds like the dreaded "vote of confidence" to me. Start clearing your desk Roy old son.

Into the top half of the table, soundly beating the Champions and Torres coming back into form. Everybody happy in Scouse land?

The red half of Manchester being equally happy with that result.
