...under the Vile American Management, I guess they're not worth talking about anymore?

Surely, you all would be pissing and moaning if they'd lost the last three...

Frank, I'd be pissing myself if they had lost three. Now the Americans have gone, it's Roy Hodgeson's fault that they're shite.

They'll have a sit in, a protest or two then have a good old wallow in self pity until they get rid of him. They'll then move onto the next victim.

They used to be great, has no-one ever told you?

I'm just surprised (not really) that all the bitches who were crying in that other thread have shut the fuck up now that their Beloved Liverpool have won their last two...with American ownership.

well its not like they've only won 2 matches since they had american owners (2007 was it?), though no silverware perhaps, so that angle of wind up is redundant anyway. must be losing your touch frank.

From my count, they win the FA Cup about once a decade.
Champions indeed.

Oh yeah - they beat Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club in 07. Turgut was the Gymnastics Club's goalkeeper, wasn't he? Fuck him from his ass...

Listening to an American talk about 'soccer' is entertainment in itself. The FA Cup has nothing to do with being Champions you dick.

Really? "Current champions Chelsea (6th title)"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FA_Cup

what's that word between "Current" and "Chelsea"?

Wikipedia also uses "champions" for the Carling Cup, which was previously known as the Worthless Cup because no major premiership side took it seriously and usually fielded weakened reserve teams. I can't think what they'd be champions of in this case either. Champions of drinking a pint of lager that tastes like piss?

I'm just saying there are a lot of reasons to call me a "dick". Mocking LFC ain't one of 'em. Apparently, as a lowly American, such is not my birthright.

The Champions are generally regarded as the team that wins the league championship. That league is the Premier League (which used to be known as The First Division) and not The Championship (which used to be known as The Second Division) nor The (now) First Division (which used to be known as The Second Division when I were a lad). Therefore, should there be a match between the Cup Winners and The Champions, it would invariably be considered as the FA Cup winners against the Premier League Champions (except those seasons where the same team hold both trophies as Chelsea currently do). To conclude:
Premier League winners - Champions
European Cup Winners - European Champions
FA Cup Winners - Cup winners
Europa League / League Cup Winners (nobody gives a shit)

Next week we will have the explanation of the difference between a team winning THE Treble (Man Utd 1999) and a team winning A Treble (Liverpool 2001).

Americans are fully entitled to make a mockery of the great football teams of Northern England, though they usually buy them first.
