the great big 'doing the album' thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Hey, I'd go see that if they played it in L.A.

X is doing its first album, "Los Angeles," for its X-mas shows this year. 30th anniversary. Yeesh.

And the Furs are doing "Talk Talk Talk" in its entirety.

this months dad rock mags have a few in. Furs doing Talk Talk Talk - and just so we know they have the setlist as part of tha ad.. Wedding present Bizarro, bunnies, Flaming Lips doing smething or other and so is the support, dinosar jr doing Bug. . The Smiths indeed are doing meat is murder and 'regenesis' doing 'a very special show performing this remarkable recording' and I think we're supposed to guess what it is from the picture, but its a very small advert and I'm no genisis expert. did they do something called trespass? SO, hasbeens and wanabees then. no offence intended.

I'm sure you will find that Genesis are grandad rock by now.

Me neither. My personal choice for bedtime reading are undoubtedly Corinthians I and II, with the Book of Psalms audio book being a favourite when I'm doing the ironing.

Yeah!

Not in the UK though until 2011 and here it will be his solo album Guilty, plus a load of Strangler songs PLUS an encore of five songs chosen by the fans at the gig. What's more he is throwing in 20 VIP tickets for fans who will be allowed to attend and watch the before and after soundcheck and chat with Hugh during AND be given a specially recorded album signed by the man himself...

Apparently, this idea all came from the fans... Every band/musician should do this.

thought he'd already been doing it here and there. rattus that is. wouldn't mind seeing it. though with the proper band, natch. I see his setlist for that tour - and I suppose this is a relatively new twist, is to publish the setlist six months in advance of the tour. Poolar opposite to the new glastonbury experience where you have to sign up to a couple of hundred quid in advance of knowing the headliners.

He did Rattus and Hooverdam back to back at the end of last year I think. No doubt this tour will be with his band (drummer and bassist only). I saw him do an acoustic set and it wasn't quite the same as I kind of like his lady bassist, Caz Campbell.

Not exactly my cuppa joe, but A Perfect Circle are in the middle of a three-night sold out run at the Showbox, doing one of their three albums per night.

thought this headline was fairly pointless:

http://www.nme.com/news/primal-scream/53935

but i suppose its more to do with the rest of the set. PLus hey're being a bit rebellious by doing it in a different order. an outrage.

also mercury rev joining flaming lips:
