Conspiracy Theory

Postby crystal89 » Tue Oct 05, 2010 12:22 pm

Here's a theory.

Mac said that The Fountain was an attempt to get back to the early
days of the band, Crocodiles and the like, and that got me thinking have the 5
post-reformation studio albums been an attempt to mimic, even copy the 5 classics?

Think About it.

Evergreen is an improved version of the Grey Album
WAYGTDWYL is Ocean Rain. Though not on the same level
Flowers is Porcupine, as Will gets revenge on the previous record and is let lose.
Siberia and HUH both share the same producer and some of those tracks sound very similar IMHO.
Crocodiles and The Fountain both had extensive outside musical help.

Therefore the next solution is a remake of the original '79 singles.

Ok so fire up the drum machine!

I think Evergreen was a natural extension of where they left off on the Grey Album but WAYGTDWYL was an attempt at a Mac solo under the Bunnymen name. I'm actually a big fan of WAYGTDWYL under any name even if it doesn't sound very Bunnymen.
After that I think they really just lost their way for a while with no label support and Mac still wanting yet another solo album under the Bunnymen name so we got The Fountain.

Wow, have you got any of that stuff left for the rest of us or have you smoked it all?

(I don't suppose you know the date of their impending first gig by any chance, I'd hate to miss it second time 'round as well)

and judging by the speed with which mac's autobiography was released, never mind the tantalising 18 month delay in releasing the fountain I'm not sure our chaps have the wherewithall (is that a word) to conspire on anything apart from snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Didn't will say they never had plans? mac would probably beg to differ.

Hey, don't be too hard on him. There may have been an agreement to hold the book back in case it overshadowed Blair's doorstopper.

I have it on good authority that the debut gig, will be at Will's House, at a
quarter past 8 on June 15th 2011.

Be there, or be square. Mac will be late, and Les is relearning I Bagsy Yours, whilst
the drum machine may or may not work!!

Cheers,

The spelling is too good to be from bunnymen.com. It's fake, so I'm not buying any tickets.

The spelling is too good to be from Peter. A. Besides. Hakeswill appears to be more in the know about the Wild Swans, so the linkage is clearly with that band not the Bunnymen.

No this is actually Pete writing, he was meant to go to oxford.

Mac still owes me £767.84 in cigarettes.

Send payment, retrospectively via loss of voice, and hairspray.
