Evergreen Remaster

Postby crystal89 » Thu Sep 30, 2010 10:10 am

Well, with so many umpteen reissues, and remasters.
Buy Ocean Rain complete with pete laughing when mac's fag
falls out of his hand during the spaz bit of Thorn of Crowns. etc etc..

MAybe it's time to contemplate the long awaited re-release of Evergreen.
Hopefully with a few live tracks and b-sides. Maybe a joint thing with
WAYGTDWYL, with the John Peel 99 concert as a bonus thing.

It's hard to believe that Evergreen was released 13 years ago! I still love that album.

Same here. My first Bunnymen album and probably truly the last given Les was gone by the time WAYGTDWYL? came out, other than still appearing on Fools Like Us. They were under 40, looked cool to the kids and had the music to go with it.

As for re-release. Not necessary and it's still available new or second hand, looking at Amazon for example. MP3 certainly.

I agree. To soil Evergreen, an album up there with their best works, with songs from possibly their greatest failure even including "The Fountain" is an appalling idea.
Maybe November, SuperMellowMan and See The Horizon could be included on an Evergreen album-this would be awesome.

SuperMellow Man was already on an album. Track #2 on Flowers.

Out of the Evergreen stuff and b-sides, I have never heard "Jonny" the b-side to NLF vinyl and on the German and French releases. In comparison to Watchtower, Polly, Colour Me In, Antelope and Hurricane, is it any good?

I can't recall ever hearing Jonny, either. Does anybody have it as an mp3? (I have it on vinyl, but my turntable's been broken for years.)

Are there any other EATB songs still not available as mp3s besides Jonny?

If Evergreen is the new Ocean Rain I think I better put another shelf up.

I was thinking of getting one of those ghost shelves, so maybe you could get me a crucifix and a priest.

It's hard to explain the appeal, but it's a very warm sounding
record. Relaxing, yet exciting. The live versions of the songs
are much better. Back in the day when a new record was
actually promoted, though they did play a lot of the Flowers songs.

It's defitnely in my top 10, put it on when you need to unwind.
