General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

You mean to say there are still orphanages in the US in the year 2010 who don't have a copy of Ocean Rain? Things are worse than I thought.

Everyone will want a limited edition vinyl copy signed by both Ian and Will, to put alongside the other limited edition CD version of Ocean Rain signed by Ian and Will we all bought a year ago.

I'd love a remastered vinyl version of OR, or any of the first 5 albums. I just got a turntable a couple months ago and music really does sound way better on vinyl, IMO. Pretty amazing considering how old the technology is.

But I gotta ask - how much longer are the Bunnymen and Warners going to milk this album? Holy canoli, it's not even their best album.

I've still got a nice linear tracking turntable that works, so I might buy two copies, one to play (once) and record to my computer at a ridiculously high bitrate well in excess of CD, and another never to be touched, simply as a collectors item.

The Bunnymen have moved on. Warner sees an opportunity to chip away at the band's debt to them, most likely. They'll keep flogging reissues until the tab is paid in full. Perhaps we're not taking a cynical enough look at Mac's seemingly ever-deteriorating health. Why would his handlers allow him to destroy himself? The cynic's answer: death sells. Bunnymen Inc. would go from deeply in the red to paid in full to turning a healthy profit within months of Mac's demise.

Now THERE is a conspiracy theory.

And as an expert conspiracy theorist, I think you are spot on. I expect Warner's plant someone in the audience to re-light his cigarettes.

you dont think peasey's a plant do you? Which is why he's always walking on stage with a ciggie, eben when maxc doesn't request one, go on mate, you know you want to, of course its water old pal, just as yuo like it, with alittle livener, etc. And all because his lifestyle is quietly enhanced by bungs, or threats from hired goons, or a dark secret he cant have mac or anyone else know - maybe like vito spatafore in the sopranos. Or maybe mac always leaves a venue with two blokes in badly fitting jeans (like teachers wear to the school disco, or the CEO on dress down day) and now we know why. Or maybe petey webdad himself? And now he's leaving because the stress is just too much - or he's been rumbled - mac secretly wearing contacts and spying the the web bloke talking to someone and they exchange something looking suspiciously like heavy vynil - him thinking he's safe because the old bloke cant see past his schnozz without his prescriptions on. Either way, we have a pretty good basis for a brand new sitcom based in the murky world of third division pop groups - bungled bungs, failed gigs, delusioned pop star and a roadie whose own lifestyle mysteriously exceeds his known salary.

Not to derail this already but high up on my list would be a remix of the Grey Album. Basically a rougher mix instead of that compressed late 80's mix they released. Those songs are much better in the demos and live versions I've heard.

High up on everyone's list. Though I think some of it could be improved if someone were to remove the frequency (ies) the cymbals lie in. Cymbals give me a headache on the Grey Album.

Mr Diva: How's about it tonight DD? Nice meal, bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, bit of the old rumpy?
DD: Sorry love, been listening to the Grey Album all afternoon, got a terrible headache.
Mr Diva: Not those fucking cymbals again.

I think the chain was pulled prior to the CD release when it all went down the pan.
