Best Coast

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I'm about to change your lives. You're welcome.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'm on dial up so it'll take a while to download. But when it is finally downloaded, I bet she isn't as good as Rozi Plain, the only person I use the "changed my life" phrase with-that's quite a claim. Though I remember a washed-up pisshead singer from Liverpool having (nearly) the same effect on me 30 years ago.

It's not often I hear a song and have to stop what I'm doing and then immediately go and buy the artist's back catalogue.

I try not to throw the changed my life statement about too liberally.

She's good. But I still win my bet by a mile. Apart from Rozi, seeing The XX on television at Glastonbury might count as another "changed my life" moment-this band might just be better than Joy Division! But Rozi is still the best. I'm filming her at the scout hut in Bristol on Sunday.

Better than Joy Division! Wow. I did draw a parallel. to Joy Division and lesser known New Order tracks. I also think they are like slower Depeche. It's like Exciter but with less guitar.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

This original Best Coast thread is still a classic.

Some of us still believe in silly, old fashioned notions like respect.

Apparently not withahip.

Have you been busy writing some of your classic Amazon reviews?

" .... genuine online critiques (from a popular online retailer) of classic novels, including One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (“I guess if you were interested in crazy people this is the book for you”); Tropic of Cancer (“This book is one of the worst books I have ever read. I got to about page 3-4”); The Lord of the Rings (“The book is not readable because of the overuse of adverbs”); and The Catcher in the Rye (“Don’t waste your time on this one. J.D. Salinger went into hiding because he was embarrassed”) "
There's times when I've been deeply indifferent
