Jesus and the Mary Chain

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Awesome. They don't have a single album I dislike (I even like Stoned and Dethroned) and their B-side collection was epic.

Even bringing Scarlett Johansen to sing on stage at Coachella didn't ruin it for me.

Favorite albums are Psychocandy and The Sound of Speed
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Fantastic, fantastic band.

Would love to see them do a cover of "Route 66." Maybe if the Reids ever hit the road again ...

Great band, all their albums are quality, but I reckon "Automatic" would be my favourite at this moment in time. I would love to see them live, even today.

The last time I saw the Mary Chain live -- a few years ago -- they were smoking hot. Dialed it up to '93 levels. Had to -- they came on after a killer performance by Gang of Four.

Another memorable 1-2 punch show: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the Mary Chain. Lord have mercy.

I really like their B-side Upside Down (and the whole B-side comp. album). Here's one of the weirdest bits of music trivia, IMO, Butthole Surfers covered that song but changed the lyrics to it as well as the title of the song. I don't know if they were trying to make fun of JAMC or what but here's the song, it's called Something. Butthole Surfers early stuff is awesome, btw.

Great band but they overdid the three chord trick thingy
-Pyschocandy-one of the greatest debuts ever.
-Darklands-great album-piss poor live at this time with a drumbox
-AUTOMATIC.fave album.F*cking brilliant live at this with full band
-Honey's Dead-so so.Saw them at NEC on Rollercoaster tour.Interest beginning to wane slightly

Gave up after that but still play Pyscho and Automatic to death.

Solid bunch. neo-psychedelic. Great stuff. They were on the soundtrack for Some Kind of Wonderful which people here in LA loved, but it wasn't a hug hit. I'm going to have to have some listns again, too. :)
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

One of my all time favorite bands. Amazing how hey released the same song over and over and it never got boring.

I'd never viewed them as an indie Status Quo but you have a point.
