Portishead

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

They shouldn't bother - last one sucked. Really disappointing

That is why they should bother - try to redeem themselves.

Maybe not - if this is the direction they are going in - ok for a minor label band - but I think Dummy was a fluke. Kate Bush singing for Kraftwerk.

I like the sound of a car door slamming better than their last one. It is ok, but Dummy set the bar so high chances are anything now won't measure up.

I don't know if this will do much to advance the rep of Portishead - Beak

Portishead producer and instrumentalist Geoff Barrow's side project, BEAK>, will release their self-titled debut Oct. 19 through Invada in the U.K. and the next day through Ipecac in North America.

The band formed earlier this year and consists of Barrow, Billy Fuller and Matt Williams. BEAK> recorded the disc over 12 days in the same room at Bristol, England's SOA Studios, using no overdubs.

"It's really good to create music under different conditions than you're used to," Barrow told The Quietus.
