A favorite set of mine on Coachella’s Saturday night was that of Echo and Bunnymen (check out our Coachella 2010 recap here). Playing a series Echo classics next to a smattering of covers (The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues, snippets of Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” and “Coney Island Baby” along with Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour”), it was pretty staggering stuff for someone who has never seen Ian McCulloch and company live. Not quite as fun as being there, the podcast captures the 30-year old band turning in a fine performance–podcast and setlist after the jump. Check it out.

I have a really good recording of Public Image Ltd. from later that evening I hope to eventually post. I was greatly disappointed when they canceled their Denver show this past Saturday, stuck in Rawlins Wyoming due to a snowy/icy highway.
