Not that I can see. Why do you ask?

even so I think its always bad form to blame the audience. its the bands job to get em going wehatever they're like. Thats what I think anyway. Winds me up no end when people - i.e., members of the audience, blame other members of the audience for not being in it enough. Tickets are expensive enough without having to sign up to entertain the rest of em.

There is no judgment of artistic merit & relevance by sales figures.
There are a couple of tracks I quite like on The Fountain and I credit the Bunnymen for creating new product, I also understand how difficult it has been for them to get it released.

However, I do not like to see Ian continually come across like a teenage boy with something to prove.

The glorification of his own talent and belittling of others is childs play as are knock knock jokes.

He's a better man than that and he lets himself down.

I am sure Ian will have a far wittier and poignant epitah worked out for himself.

Fair enough point I guess, but I think he thinks it's a witty and funny persona to play, which oftentimes it can be. Better a bit of immaturity and hyperbolic bravado than to take himself so seriously. I think there's a lot to be proud of on The Fountain, particularly the lyrics.

"Shroud of Turin" and "Everlasting Neverendless" are, for me, a couple of the best tracks they've written since they reformed. The former rocks live as well.

Whatever anyone's opinion is of it,it certainly isnt the amateurish dirge-fest that some people make out it is.Ok its not going to win a Grammy award for experimentation and its a bit 'Bunnymen by-numbers' but its not a career killer.

It is neither good or bad. I haven't changed my mind on that despite trying to get the other songs. I play "Forgotten Fields", "Everlasting Neverendless" (and "November") from time to time. To me, it sounds like the album that should have been Flowers some nine years ago. Then it would have been rather good. Still, others liked it.

At least Flowers had one killer song, SuperMellowMan.

Supermellow man? That mid-paced plodding second song off the worst album Mac or Will have put their name to?Im not a fan of it  Everything about Flowers was so wrong. The cheaply recorded songs, the cover, the inside cover, everyone saying its the best album since Crocodiles.....wrong,wrong,wrong.

Supermellow Man - fine song, but not a classic. The instrumental version is even more plodding. I can't think of a really great song off that album. Burn For Me for the chorus and Will's guitar bit. The b-sides, Marble Towers and Scratch The Past I liked as the band seemed to be a little more inventive. Funnily enough Flowers' and The Fountain reviews on Amazon (worth reading as they come from the joe buying public rather than music journalists) might as well as be the same album. The Fountain seemed to attract more negative views, however.

The title track "Flowers" is the best album track for me. Hide & Seek is just as bad as SuperMellowMan.

That album was passable when it was released, but it really hasn't stood the test of time.

The lackluster cover/photos don't help either.
